Visas & Entry Requirements

Participants are advised to verify entry requirements well in advance of their travel. Below is general guidance for attending the conference in Portugal.

EU / Schengen Citizens

Citizens of EU countries and the Schengen Area do not need a visa for short stays. A valid ID card or passport is sufficient.

Non-EU Citizens

Participants from outside the EU (e.g. Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, USA, Taiwan, among others)

May be visa-exempt or require a visa, depending on nationality. Please consult the official visa portal for your specific conditions.

For short visits (including conferences), a Schengen short-stay visa (tourist) is sufficient. No specific “conference visa” is required.

Travellers may be asked to show proof of accommodation, return travel ticket, sufficient financial means, travel insurance (recommended) and conference invitation letter.
